Dr. Joydeb Chanda did his graduation and post-graduation (in Pharmacology) from West Bengal University of Technology. He has completed his Ph.D. thesis at Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2019. Before joining Jadavpur University he worked as Senior Officer (Quality Control Dept.) at Fresenius Kabi Oncology Ltd., Kalyani. He worked as a project fellow under UGC-University Potential for Excellence fellowship from 2012 to 2019. He worked on therapeutic evaluation and standardization of some plants of Cucurbitaceae family. His research area includes quality evaluation, standardization, marker profiling, chemo-profiling of medicinal plants of Ayurvedic importance, as well as their safety evaluation through herb-drug interaction study. He has a keen interest in working on the different areas of plant-derived therapeutics as well as phytochemical characterization of bioactive phytoconstituents based on the chromatography guided metabolomics approach. He has also proficient in handling several analytical instruments viz. HPLC, Preparative HPLC, Flash chromatography, Column chromatography, HPTLC, LC-MS/MS, HPTLC etc. His work has been published in different national and international journals. He attended several national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. He also worked as Visiting Researcher at School of Health, Sports and Bioscience, University of East London, Stratford Campus, UK under “Newton Bhabha Ph.D. placement fellowship (2017)” jointly funded by British Council and Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. He is an active member of Society for Ethnopharmacology, India (International Society for Ethnopharmacology, Indian Chapter) since 2012.
